Just like my company's slogan, I am continually in motion and on the lookout for great samples of my favorite wood species to work with or something with character that I haven't seen before. "Big Box Store" lumber need not apply.

A Decision is Made - Slab or Pour?
What will I make?
Once I choose a piece to transform, I step back to decide what I will create - a simpler live edge serving board slab, or a full on resin pour piece? Sometimes I get lucky and I can make one of each from same piece of lumber. |

Once a creative decision is made, I work diligently - cutting, planing, sanding, and routing the piece to sculpt it to begin coaxing the my vision out of the lumber. |

Fine Tuning Things
Applying the final touches.
The most important part of finishing a piece rests with last thing you do to it before you feel it's complete. This includes the wood's finish application - which can have a MAJOR bearing on my pieces' lifespan - the longer the better. I only use combinations of natural waxes and oils on my creations to ensure nothing risks contamination when served. Even your junk mail or the lost car keys you threw on it are safe! |
